About Us

Founded in 1995 in Istanbul, Türkiye by Dr. Rana Ufuk Akın, PersonaLife offers services in three primary areas:

Psychological Counseling for Individuals, Couples and Families:

Life is constantly changing, and adapting to these shifts can be challenging and stressful. At times, strong emotions such as grief, anxiety, anger, or worry might hinder a persons ability to use their inner resources effectively. Sometimes, these resources may not be enough to manage the demands of change. Whether the difficulties stem from family dynamics, relationships, or personal struggles, therapy provides valuable support.

Personal Development Training and Consulting for Companies:

PersonaLife partners with companies to create tailored programs and services. After conducting a preliminary assessment to understand each companys needs, we work together to determine the content, timing, and location of training sessions. In addition to organizational consulting, we offer counseling and coaching to employees seeking to develop managerial or leadership skills. Our expert-led training programs encourage active participation through role-plays, video recordings, presentations, exercises, and games, and can be delivered in both English and Turkish.

Training and Consulting for Educational Institutions:

PersonaLife introduced the Inquiry-Based Learning Program (PYP) to Türkiye,  integrating it with the Ministry of National Education curriculum and supporting schools in its implementation for over 25 years. We were the first to offer teacher training focused on both curriculum development and classroom management through the Learning Styles Program. Our center also pioneered the Classroom Climate Program in Türkiye, which includes teacher training in classroom management and communication skills, as well as seminars for parents.

Dr. Rana Ufuk Akın is a TRUE COLORS International Certified Trainer, and PersonaLife is the sole institution in Türkiye authorized to provide TRUE COLORS training to companies and schools.

Beginning in 2021, PersonaLife broadened its scope from Toronto, Canada, and now provides online counseling to individuals, couples, and families worldwide. Sessions are available in both Turkish and English, making our support accessible to a broad and diverse clientele.  This global outreach reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing well-being and offering support far beyond Türkiyes borders.

 Individual Therapy

Therapy for individuals focuses on addressing psychological problems and symptoms within a structured, theoretical framework tailored to each person’s unique needs. Through various counseling approaches and interventions, it aims to enhance coping skills for challenges, traumas, and emotional difficulties for the individual. The process encourages changes in thought and behavior patterns, increases self-awareness, and helps regulate social relationships and communication.  Ultimately, individual therapy strives to provide effective coping with emotional difficulties in daily life.

Health-focused Therapy

Health encompasses physical, psychological, and social well-being. Health-focused therapy adopts a holistic perspective, using the biopsychosocial model to address these interconnected aspects. Therapy in this area is based on how the biological, behavioral, and social factors that influence physical health and illness. This approach is both protective and preventive, recognizing that difficulties in one area can impact the others. In the context of chronic illness, the therapy supports patients and their loved ones as they navigate diagnosis and treatment, while also helping them develop strategies to manage psychological challenges and interpersonal issues.

Couple and Family Therapy

Couple and Family Therapy takes a comprehensive, systemic approach to address a wide range of psychological challenges that may impact individuals, couples, or entire families. The central objective is to recognize and transform recurring patterns that shape family dynamics, facilitating healthier and more adaptive relationships. This form of therapy is designed to tackle issues related to communication, intimacy, and relational difficulties, whether among married or unmarried couples.

Beyond these concerns, Couple and Family Therapy also provides support for families navigating traumatic experiences such as grieving, divorce, parenting difficulties, and the ripple effects of physical or mental health issues within the household. Sessions can include both partners, specific family members, or the entire family unit, depending on the situation and therapeutic goals. By engaging participants within the context of their family system, the therapy process aims to promote healing and foster lasting, positive change for everyone involved.
